VORONOI
BY LICIA MATTIOLI
FOR MATTIOLI
In 1908 Georgy Voronoi studied and defined the general case of a geometric and mathematical rule that describes a particular type of decomposition and tessellation of a metric space. The formalized algorithm described, with the language of science of numbers, the planar composition of some natural configurations such as butterfly wings, the tortoise shell, the design of the coat of the giraffe or cracks etched on arid soil that appeared to be random. The beauty of this type of organic morphology has inspired these earrings which appear to be characterized by the particular texture derived from the Voronoi diagram. Made by expert goldsmiths, these are produced in black gold with sandblasting finish and are embellished with diamonds.
