Research project based on the replacement
of polymer clothes hangers with supports created from
renewable material made of waste products from the
olive processing industry. The study project is divided
into two phases: the first concerns the production of
hangers in cellulose pulp, a recycled and recyclable
material; the second, instead involves the creation of a
compound based on polypropylene and materials derived
from waste products from local agricultural industries.
The research activity has also involved the study of
finishing processes for the hanger in order to ensure that
the hangers have greater resistance and wearability as well
as the development of solutions for obtaining structural
reinforcement and pairing with accessories. The first
samples are presented as entirely single material objects,
except for the metal hook whose integration is in all
respects a standard feature in the industry.
