3D technologies today permit the faithful copying of parts of the body and the creation of highly efficient prosthetics. So far, this approach has mostly only been translated into footwear which has focused on the introduction of standardized and non-personalized 3D printed parts for the lower sections of sports shoes. The thesis therefore focuses on the development of a new-concept mountain running shoe based on these technologies and aimed at obtaining unprecedented fit, lightness and performance. Replicant provides a basic structure, enhanced with structural grafts in plastic materials (heel, toe and tabs) modeled on the basis of the user’s foot scan and printed in 3D. This solution allows the production of a shoe that adheres perfectly to the shape of the wearer.
