The Rocky master thesis focuses on the research and development of a special rehabilitation system designed to regain hand functions in patients who have suffered a stroke. The system consists of a glove that can be worn independently by the patient and that allows two different types of therapy: passive and active. The project looks at a number of areas ranging from aesthetics to research into different materials and from the engineered fit of the glove to the development of the modularity of the different elements while constantly devoting specific attention to the special needs of users. In addition to these research factors, the thesis has developed a special occupational therapy system, worked out to follow and optimize each phase of the patient’s recovery path.
