Musico is a Master’s thesis project in product innovation design which examines music teaching and experimental methods for teaching this discipline to pre-school children. The research involved led to the development of an educational game for a first approach to music for children from 3 to 9 years of age: a special manual turntable capable of creating an informal style of rhythmic and melodic learning. The manipulation of coloured tonal discs and their rotation allow the child, assisted by an educator, to play simple melodies and experiment with endless combinations of notes and thus colour becomes music using Arduino and RFID technology. The prototype will be tested in one of the AIGAM (Italian Gordon Association for Musical Learning) schools.
