SUNIGHT, POCKET-SUN, ACCORDION LIGHT
BY NAIKE COGLIATI
FOR POLITECNICO DI MILANO
A study into lighting fixtures that arises from
the need to have a light that is effective and
environmentally friendly and able to exploit the
phenomenon of electroluminescence through an OLED
powered by small photovoltaic modules. The products
suggested are contextualized as emergency instruments,
assistance instruments for humanitarian aid, survival or first
aid lights. The Sunight lamp consists of a circular lighting
body which can be mounted on various supports via
magnets or suction cups thus giving a great deal of
versatility to the system. Pocket-Sun consists of a central
core on which a photovoltaic cell is located: the OLEDs
petals open like a fan thus offering several lighting options,
while the Accordion Light concept instead has a freely
movable accordion-like structure which can be folded away
into a small rectangular package.
