ROLLmed is a combination of an outer casing (10 separate and assemblable pieces, all different but manufactured using the same technique and material) and a series of electronic components (an electronic data card is planned to which the other components can be connected in different ways, power is supplied via a lithium ion battery, visualization is on a LCD and touch screen display, while secondary cards ensure sending and receiving of data relative to activities other than those controlled by the main card). The non-electronic elements linked to the internal functions are the sleeve and pump for measuring blood/arterial pressure. The ROLLmed rear section contains a metallic plate which functions as a palm biometric sensor and allows the measuring of body function such as temperature, heart rate and even body fat mass (ROLLmed can be used for checking health during physical exercise). The packaging contains a plastic bubble attached to a simple box where instructions and any advertising messages can be put. The ROLLmed prototype was created using machinery designed for rapid prototype production at the Sapienza Design Factory laboratory.

All the ROLLmed outer casing elements are designed to be made out of ABS.
Wireless system for instant data transmission to other devices and medical staff, through LCD and touch screen. ROLLmed uses occlusion spectroscopy (a technique developed by the Israeli Orsense company- www.orsense.com) and sphygmomanometer and glucometer functions, together with biometric sensors.
