Design of the Centrale Idrodinamica and the
Sottostazione Elettrica Museum in the Old Port of
Trieste. The design developed jointly between MAP
architects, Tassinari / Vetta and MHK consulting saw the
definition of the initial display concepts, architectural
design, graphics and special installations. Within the
Centrale Idrodinamica, intended for use as a museum,
the intervention focused on the re-establishing of the
original geometry through exhibition facilities in iron sheets
and the definition of an exhibition path which also included
hydraulic machinery. In the Sottostazione Elettrica,
intended as both a museum and an archive, the
architectural intervention focused on bringing together the
fragmented architectural spaces with the creation of
learning environments. The different functional pathways
are highlighted using a significant recent environmental
off-scale graphic design.
