The use of new and original technologies for digital printing on ceramics is the basis of a tile collection that reinterprets some classic contemporary decorative themes. Frame offers a new interpretation of floor surfaces intended for public spaces and private houses, and carries with it the added value of an avant-garde vision dedicated to research and innovation. Available in four different lines, the iconographic references selected range through space and time, drawing on the ancient yet familiar motifs of the Nineteenth/Twentieth Century majolica tiles (Majolica), to works of the classic Mediterranean Azulejos (Geometric), the optical illusions of the traditional Shibori textile dyes (Weave), to modern and experimental visions developed by textile designer Anni Albers and the Bauhaus (Carpet). Through a process of deconstruction, each subject is broken down into its primary decorative features and then re-interpreted in a novel configuration of colour and graphics. The modular order of the tiles corresponds to the freedom induced by variable scales of the decorative motifs which come in three different sizes. The random juxtaposition during installation allows the creation of endless dynamic graphical combinations and the chance to play with the effects of visual perception and associations of memory induced by the original decorative themes.
