The MyMusic coffee project comes from a recent study by the English psychologist Charles Spence from Oxford University in which it was shown that sounds change and enhance the flavours of food and drink. This discovery led to the creation of a line of six blends of coffee, produced in 3 sizes (FAP capsules compatible with Nespresso® or Lavazza® machines), each of which is represented by a family of instruments (wind instruments, strings and percussion). Each coffee is linked to a type of music and is associated with an excerpt from a selection of six emerging Italian bands. A QR code is printed on each pack of coffee that plays the selected artist’s song on a dedicated web portal and thus the coffee acts as an element in a multi-sensory type social interaction.
