Designed to guarantee a supply of plant-based foods to urban communities and to revitalize the waterfront of the city, Jellyfish Barge is a modular floating greenhouse for growing food in urban areas which produces the water and energy it needs by using only solar energy. A typical installation (4 greenhouses and a connecting module) produces 5,000 / 6,000 plants per month thanks to a highly efficient hydroponic cultivation system. The water needed for the crops is extracted from the water on which the greenhouse floats and thanks to the distiller, fresh water can be extracted from saline, brackish or polluted water. Jellyfish Barge can be used to combine food production with a public space that can also become a site dedicated to sales, educational and catering activities at zero kilometers.
